Symmetry
We have been discussing symmetry in P5 today. We used mirrors to look at patterns and complete them to make them the same on both sides.
We will continue to look at symmetry and rotation over the next few days.
Project - we have been learning about the properties of water. We know that water can be a solid (ice), a liquid (water) and a gas (water vapour or steam). We have been learning some new vocabulary too.
We found out that when water is heated it EVAPORATES. This is when it turns into a gas and rises into the atmosphere. We tested this out by making a puddle outside in the playground. We did this at 12.55 (just before lunch). Since it is a sunny day we thought it should evaporate quite quickly.
By the end of lunch break (1.40pm) it had almost completely evaporated.
WOW!
We are going to explore this further by looking at the water cycle and weather. We have a rain maker in the classroom to help us watch how rain is made. Should be fun!
