Shabbat

Yesterday in RME we were learning about the Jewish holy day of Shabbat.

We set our own success criteria - to be able to give between 3 and 5 facts about Shabbat.

During the lesson we practised our note taking skills when watching a video clip of a Jewish family celebrating Shabbat and also hearing Miss Kelday give us information.

We found out lots of what happens during this day of rest.  We learned that the Shabbat meal always starts with the family sharing wine and eating bread.  These are 2 very important traditions.

To help us remember this we did the same - drank 'wine' and ate bread.

(Shhhh, don't tell, but the wine was actually red grape schloer!)

We all greeted each other with the traditional Jewish phrase of

Shabbat Shalom
