Term 2 Update
Sorry for the late blog entry - here is what we got up to in December and the run up to Christmas!
On the 1st of December we decorated our classroom with Christmas decorations. We all added a bauble to the Christmas Tree. We made a fireplace scene on our big classroom door too!
We took part in a group activity which involved us designing a 'Hotel for Kids'. We had to use our creativity and organisation skills to make sure we had thought of everything. It was a fun task and it showed how much our group work has improved lately.
As part of our Sound and Light topic, we focused on how instruments make their sound. We used our knowledge to design and build our own instruments from junk materials. We also made up small junk bands and created some tunes.
TEA TOWELS
Our tea towels arrived in the post at the start of the month so we had to get them organised and packaged up for our customers. We were so pleased as we managed to sell them all! We raised over £800 for the school.
On the 3rd of December we held a Christmas Craft afternoon. We had lots of parents and family members visit us. We made stockings, lightbulb reindeer and snowmen and other little crafts.
We had Christmas Dinner on the 12th December. We enjoyed eating it as a class and had a great time around 1 big table.
Santa and his 2 little helpers came to visit us. We were very pleased to find out that we had been given 2 vouchers for our Xmas present. 1 voucher was for a trip to Julia's cafe for hot chocolate and a sweet treat and the other voucher was for a session on the bouncy castle. These events were planned for Monday the 15th - we renamed it FUNDAY MONDAY!
