Making a volcano!
At the start of our Science topic, P5 had the opportunity to set some learning questions for us to explore during the term.
Unsurprisingly, they were very keen to blow things up or make an explosion.
Their key learning question became: What do we mix together to cause an explosion?
To include this within our learning, we decided to make a model volcano. We are then going to mix certain household ingredient together and see what happens! Hopefully our volcanoes will erupt!
We are all looking forward to that lesson!
First we had to build our volcano.
We mixed 3 cups of flour, 1 cup of salt, 1 cup of water and 2 tablespoons of oil together to make a salt dough.
At times it got VERY messy!
Once the dough was made, we moulded it around a plastic bottle. This will hold the 'lava' mixture.
Coming up: decorating our models and erupting our volcanoes.
