Today the children helped Mrs Hutchison to make delicious shortbread, yum!!

We will be writing instructions on how to make shortbread tomorrow in our 'Big Writing' lesson.

These photos might help you with your talking homework tonight too.

Mrs Hutchison needed plain flour, corn flour and butter to make the shortbread mixture

Mrs Hutchison showed the children how to roll out the shortbread mixture using the rolling pin
The children then 'had a go' at cutting out the shortbread using the cutters

Once cut out the shortbread was put carefully onto the baking tray

Here is Eileen busy cutting out the shortbread
Tom looks excited. I don't think he can wait to try this delicious shortbread!

More rolling, cutting and preparing our shortbread for the oven

Once the last tray was ready, the shortbread went into the oven for about twenty minutes
When cool some of the children dusted the shortbread with icing sugar.
Miss Begley has just tried a piece and it is scrumptious!
She has a piece waiting for everyone to inspire their writing tomorrow!
