We really enjoyed the Julia Donaldson story, Jack and the Flum Flum Tree where Jack goes an adventure to the Isle of Blew your nose!

 

We used this as a stimulus to write our own stories in class.

 

They were so good and Miss Begley was so impressed we thought you might like to read some extracts from our stories.

So Lucy built a boat and found a crew, Nell and Zoe. Then mum came outside and gave us a sack and in that sack were three cups, some sandwiches, juice, a pony, a map and a rope. So Lucy said, What is the use of those? Ah said mum and she tapped her nose!

My poor grandad hadn't been feeling well for a week. The doctor nodded his head and said he has the moozles! The only cure for the moozles is the fruit from the flum flum tree. So we set of down to the ship. Grandad came with the sack. It had a cork, bucket, ladder, tent and a piece of food.

Ruben's grandad had not been feeling well for the last few days. Ruben phoned the doctor and he said that he had the moozles! Ruben said what is the moozles? The doctor said they are big purple spots and the only cure is the fruit from the flum flum tree.

 

So I built a boat and I found a crew. Aaron, Dylan and Owen B. I said to Aaron, Dylan and Owen B that we were off to the Island of Blow your nose!
